First Church in Sterling
A church where members are associated with the Unitarian Universalist Association, the United Church of Christ, or are interdenominational members.

The First Church is self-governing, as explained in our by-laws. The church’s business is managed by its boards, where each board has the authority to take whatever actions it deems necessary, within the scope of the board’s charter. The Church Council serves to coordinate the efforts of the boards and to mediate conflicts.

Boards Structure
Church officers and board members are elected at the annual congregational meeting, usually in June. Each denominational group or society governs its affairs.
