The First Church is an Ecumenical Shared Ministry—a multi-denominational congregation with ties to the Unitarian Universalist Association and the United Church of Christ. Church members may choose to belong to one of these denominations, or to be an interdenominational member.
Interdenominational members make up the largest percentage of our current church membership. They include people from diverse backgrounds and faith traditions who have found a home at First Church. Some have moved into the area and desire to keep ties with their prior denomination for various reasons. While others generally feel more comfortable with the nondenominational aspect of church life and ministry.
