Our Mission Statement

We are a caring community providing a rich, interdenominational Christian experience.  Our mission is to continue a long tradition of living in the spirit of Jesus; to discover, celebrate, and share God’s love and peace through our worship, service, work, and play.

WELCOME to First Church in Sterling! 

First Church in Sterling is a multidenominational church where we strive to celebrate diversity!  Our building is handicapped accessible.  Large print Bibles and hymnals, in addition to hearing assistance devices, are available during worship services.  We welcome people of differing faiths, experiences, socioeconomic classes, marital status, and sexual orientations. 

As a church community, we challenge ourselves to be inclusive!  Though we don’t do it perfectly, we try to do our best to stay in respectful and committed relationship with each other and with those who come to our church, in our community, and in the world around us.   We seek to embrace persons at all points on their spiritual journey, and invite them to grow with us through the worship of God and the service of humankind.

During community-wide disasters that affect the ability for residents to safely remain at home, First Church has traditionally been activated as an Emergency Shelter.
