Events

Adult Education

Pub Theology is led by one of our pastors and brings adults of all ages together for food, drinks, and discussion about topics that matter. Come grab a beer (or a water, we don’t judge) and join us to talk about church related issues in the 21st century at the Mill in West Boylston. All are welcome. Check the events page for upcoming dates.

Seasonal Bible Studies are held during Advent and Lent. This is a great way to participate in deep engagement with the Bible with guidance from our pastors while also growing in community with other members of the church. Keep an eye out on Facebook or the events page for upcoming Bible Studies.

Mindfulness Meditation. Dr. Andy Linscott, PhD leads a group in-person of mindfulness meditation weekly, and daily Zoom meditations. Interested in sitting in meditation with a committed group of daily meditators? Contact Andy at linscott@bu.edu.

Community

Newcomers Coffee. Are you new to First Church and want to learn more about us? We want to learn more about you, too! We offer newcomers coffee and conversation led by lay leaders every Sunday after church.

Path to Membership. Our Path to Membership classes are led by Pastor Robin, offered about three times a year, and designed to help newcomers make a decision about whether to officially join the church as a committed member.

Watercolor with Charlie is a free, all skill level, water color class which meets every Monday morning at 9am. The diverse skill level group is led by professional painter and all around good guy, Charlie Gray.

Voyagers brings together older adults every other Thursday at 10am to talk about important things in our lives. We listen lots, share some. And laugh! We focus on life beyond work and raising a family. We are a warm, welcoming, caring bunch who look forward to being together.

Parents of teenagers support group brings together parents of tweens and teens to talk about the complexity of parenting this age group during a tough and tender time, with a particular focus on mental, physical and spiritual health of our children and each other. Meets monthly on the second Thursday at 6 pm; led by Pastor Robin and other lay leaders. Contact Pastor Robin for more information.

Men’s Breakfast meets over good food on the last Saturday of the month from 8-10am in the Parish Hall. Men of all ages are invited to join together for prayer, laughs, support and maybe a little too much breakfast. Contact Pastor Zach for more information.

Retreats are held throughout the year. We have women’s, adult, and church wide retreats which provide opportunities for connecting with each other on a deep level in a relaxed atmosphere to reconnect with God and grow spiritually. Keep an eye out on Facebook and the events page for retreat announcements.
